Linn County Sheriff’s investigators are seeking a suspect who robbed the Crawfordsville Market Wednesday evening, Oct. 27.
Owner Ed Casterline said the male suspect entered the store at about 5:45 p.m. at 38396 Hwy. 228.
He said the suspect, wearing camouflage and a mask, with a gun on his hip, handed the female clerk a note stating, as Casterline put it, “I don’t want to hurt nobody; give me the money.”
“The only thing she could see was his eyes.”
The man took the cash that was in the register and 13 5,000-pump vape pens, he said.
“She gave him the money and he walked out. She called the cops.”
Linn County Sheriff’s Office Undersheriff Michelle Duncan said “we are still working on the investigation” when asked about the incident.
“They have a description of the vehicle, Casterline said, declining to go into detail. “The cops are working on it.”
Casterline, who has owned the store for just over a year, said he’s not aware of any other robberies there in recent years.
“We’re just happy no one got hurt,” he said.
Sheriff Jim Yon said anyone with information regarding the case is encouraged to contact detectives at (541) 967-3950.
