Crawfordsville Bridge Day is Saturday, and the public is invited to visit and enjoy the festivities as Crawfordsville celebrates the bridge’s 81st birthday.
Anyone can visit and look at the history and Alumni Association booth. Crawfordsville Covered Bride cakes, which only come out once a year, will be available, and vendors will have crafts for sale, featuring artisans from Eugene, Sweet Home, Brownsville, Cave Junction, Crawfordsville, Springfield and Holley, along with Mudmom’s Covered Bridge Pottery.
Refreshments, including hot dogs and burgers will be served by 12 Star Cafe of Cave Junction.
A children’s area will include fun activities and a coloring contest.
The bridge, where the festival is held, is located over the Calapooia River next to the roadway in Crawfordsville, west of Sweet Home on Highway 228.
