Dancers place second at Molalla

The Huskiettes places second among four teams at the Molalla Dance competition held Feb. 11.

Captain Emily Conrad and Senior Yoshiko Tomono earned individual medals in the individual skills competition.

Conrad earned a silver medal for her split leaps and a bronze for her high kicks. Tomono earned a silver medal for her right, left and center splits.

“We had a great day,” said Coach Kristin Ashcraft. “We scored higher in execution and content then we ever have. Each competition our scores increase.”

The team has a break now and will use it to perfect and improve its routine based on the judges’ feedback, Ashcraft said.

The Huskiettes compete next on March 3rd at Sprague High School.

The Dance/Drill State Championships are March 13-14 at the Memorial Coliseum in Portland.
