Daniel LeRoy Ames, 56, of Sweet Home, passed away May 18, 2026.
He was born Jan. 15, 1970, in Lebanon to Clarene Faye (Brown-Gravesgaard) Ames and David Charles Ames.
Daniel spent most of his life in the Lebanon and Sweet Home communities and graduated from Lebanon High School.
He was a member of New Life in Christ Fellowship and was known in the Camaro Club as the Transformer character “BumbleBee.” Daniel helped build FAC huts in Sweet Home to support those experiencing homelessness.
Daniel loved the outdoors and found joy in fishing, hunting, and spending time on the lakes and rivers. He enjoyed playing pool, target shooting, and airsoft games with friends and family.
He is survived by his significant other, Colleen Anderson of Sweet Home; son Kyle Ames; daughter Callistah Ames; sisters Angie Ames-Joslin of Lebanon and Nikki Ames-Klein of Klamath Falls; brother Richard Hasson of Lebanon; and other relatives, friends and church family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarene and David Ames.
A celebration of life will be at noon Wednesday, June 3, at New Life in Christ Fellowship, 1266 44th Ave. Sweet Home.
