Danielle Hay, Steven Hanscam wed

Danielle Marie Hay and Steven Eugene Hanscam were married in a double ring ceremony on August 15, 2009, on Princeville Beach in Princeville, Kauai, Hawaii with Rev. Glenn Frazier officiating.

The bride is the daughter of John and LaVern Hay of Sweet Home. The groom is the son of Mervin and the late Dorothy Hanscam of Sweet Home.

The wedding took place at sunset on the beach. The bride and groom were barefoot and wore Hawaiian leis while Rev. Frazier performed a Christian service with traditional Hawaiian blessings and the blowing of the conch shell to announce the union of the couple to the community and to the Lord.

The bride wore a beautiful, white gown with pearl and ribbon detail, pearl earrings, and plumeria flowers in her hair. The groom wore a dark gray suit with a blue shirt and complementary gray and blue tie.

Danielle is a 1978 graduate of Sweet Home High School. She received her Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Western Oregon University in 1982 and her Master’s degree at Azusa Pacific University in 1992. She is a physical education teacher at James Madison Elementary School in Indio, California and has raised two sons, KC and Spencer.

Steven graduated in 1973 from Sweet Home High School. He attended the University of Oregon and graduated from there with a Bachelor’s degree in business in 1978. He is a self-employed Certified Public Accountant with his office in Sweet Home. Steve also has two sons, Casey and Kyle.

The couple will be sharing their homes in Indio and Sweet Home until Spencer completes High School.
