Darold DeWayne Rozell, 50, of Lebanon, died Nov. 7, 2007 at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital. He was born Aug. 31, 1957 in Lebanon to Darold and Mary J. (Hyde) Rozell.
He attended Hawthorne and Oak Heights elementary schools, Sweet Home Junior High, and graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1976. After graduation, he moved to Wrangell, Alaska to work.
He returned to Sweet Home and worked at Santiam Lumber Co. until it closed in 1991. In 1992, he went to work for Oregon Freeze Dry and then later started working for the Lebanon School District as a custodian until his untimely death.
In 1998, Darold married Brenda Koplin. They later divorced. He enjoyed the River Rhythms Concerts and was an original Oregon Jamboree volunteer.
Mr. Rozell is survived by his daughter, Jessica Louise Rozell of Eugene; his parents, Darold and Mary Rozell of Lebanon; brother, Gary Rozell of Albany; sister and brother-in-law, Staci and Steve Steinbacher of Sweet Home; nieces Sara and Emily Coonrod of Sweet Home; nephew, Jamie Steinbacher of Sweet Home; his grandmother, Carmen Hyde of Sweet Home; his special friend, Patty Basey of Albany; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Vivian Rozell and grandfather Walter Hyde.
A memorial service was held Nov. 13 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lebanon.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diabetes Association in Mr. Rozell’s name.
