Melissa Spurgeon and David Cheek have announced their engagement to marry on Oct. 29.
Spurgeon is the daughter of Don and Jeannette Spurgeon of Lebanon. She is a dental hygienist at Oak Park Family Dental in Salem.
Cheek is the son of Richard and Pat Cheek of Sweet Home. He is a logger with Rice Logging.
