David Tenbusch

David John Tenbusch, 65, of Sweet Home, died Nov. 24, 2011.

He was born June 7, 1946 in Falls City to Charley Joe and Elizabeth (Wuestuwald) Tenbusch.

Mr. Tenbusch came to Sweet Home in the 1950’s and attended the local schools, then joined the U.S. Navy at 17 and retired as a Command Master Chief in 1983. He did not rest in retirement. After returning to Sweet Home, he ran an air conditioning and heating business for 15 years.

He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He loved to work in his yard with pride. He was a life-long Oregon Ducks fan and tried to convert those who were Oregon State Beaver fans.

Mr. Tenbusch is survived by his wife, Barbara Tenbusch; daughters Jamey L. Frederick of Sweet Home and Tara Y. and son-in-law David Rathbun Jr. of Lebanon; sisters Bernice Webster of Portland, Faye Cowdrey of Brownsville and Patricia Rice of Sweet Home; six grandsons; two great-grandsons; and numerous nieces, nephews and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Tony Tenbusch; and six siblings.

Viewing will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. A memorial service is planned at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
