I was disgusted to read in last week’s New Era that OSHA had fined Sugar Vibes nearly $9,000
for not forcing its employees to wear masks that supposedly prevent the spread of Covid 19. The
fines and penalties eventually added up to over $11,000, a huge sum for a small business to pay.
The imposition of such a fine is outrageously unjust.
Forcing others to wear masks under threat of punishment is an exercise of the worst kind of
tyranny. Such mandates are designed to humiliate the populace by forcing them to wear an
external symbol of subjection to the arbitrary tyranny of the State.
Masks are degrading, dehumanizing, and depersonalizing. They remove the personal identity of
the individual and reduce them to the status of a faceless slave. When you forcibly cover
someone’s face against their will, you are removing their humanity. This is what captors do to
their captives. We are not captives of the state. We are free citizens with a right to self-
determination, especially about what we put on our face.
Furthermore, it is scientifically proven that masks are ineffective at preventing the spread of
respiratory viruses. They are mere medical theatre to convey an illusion of protection while
providing none. The scientific proof is contained in the Cochrane Database of Systematic
Reviews entitled: Physical interventions to interrupt or reduce the spread of respiratory viruses,
by Jefferson T, Dooley L, Ferroni E, et al, in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews
2023, Issue 1. Art. No.: CD006207.
The purpose of the review was to find out whether physical measures stop or slow the spread of
respiratory viruses are effective. They searched 78 randomized controlled studies that looked at
physical measures to stop people acquiring a respiratory virus infection.
What did they find? After looking at 78 relevant studies that took place worldwide in hospitals,
schools, and homes, they obtained the following results:
Regarding medical or surgical masks, they concluded that wearing a mask may make little to no
difference in how many people caught a flu-like illness/COVID-like illness.
Regarding N95/P2 respirators, they found that wearing N95/P2 may make little to no difference
in how many people catch a flu-like illness or respiratory illness.
Even Dr. Fauci admitted masks are ineffective in preventing the spread of respiratory viruses.
Knowing what we do now about the ineffectiveness of masks to stop the spread of Covid-19, the
Government should issue a refund along with an apology to Sugar Vibes. The next time the state
tries this nonsense, just say no. If enough people speak up, the State will back down. Do not be a
victim of the State’s propaganda.
