Dear Editor,
This holiday season, the Sweet Home Rotary Club has been spreading goodwill and making a significant impact on the lives of others in the community. Through a series of charitable events and donations, the club’s members have shown their dedication to helping those in need.
One of the most heartwarming initiatives this holiday season took place on Thanksgiving. Members of the Rotary Club came together to cook and serve a warm Thanksgiving meal to the homeless community at FAC. The meal not only provided a delicious feast but also offered a sense of companionship and care to those who may have otherwise been without support during the holiday.
In addition to the Thanksgiving meal, the club made generous donations to local organizations. The Rotary Club is donating $500 along with toiletries and paper products to the SHEM (Sweet Home Emergency Ministry), which provides vital support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness. The donation will help ensure that those in need have access to essential items during the colder months.
The club also made a $500 donation to the SHFD Christmas Sharing Tree, which provides gifts to children in the area who might otherwise go without presents this holiday season. By contributing to this initiative, the Rotary Club is helping to bring joy and hope to families facing hardship.
In addition, the Rotary Club members held a collection basket at their meeting last week, raising $235 for the SHPD Christmas Sharing Tree. This donation will help provide gifts and support for local children and families in need.
It’s truly inspiring to see our members come together and make such a positive impact on our community during this season of giving. We are proud to be able to offer our support and contribute to the well-being of those in need right here in our own town.
The Sweet Home Rotarians have long been committed to community service, and their holiday efforts are a testament to the club’s ongoing dedication to making a difference. With these thoughtful contributions, the Rotary Club is helping to ensure that the holiday season is brighter for many families and individuals in the local area.
