Derek Glenn “Deac” Cooley, 48, of Sweet Home died Oct. 20, 2012.
He was born June 9, 1964 in Stockton, Calif. to James and Shirley (Hogard) Cooley.
He has lived in French Camp, Manteca and Stockton, Calif. He moved to Sweet Home in 1990.
Mr. Cooley worked in various fields before going to work for ODOT in 1999.
He enjoyed picking and selling wild mushrooms, RC’s, yard sales and computers.
He is survived by his wife, Kelly Malone Cooley of Sweet Home; stepsons Timothy Holley of San Diego, Jeremy and daughter-in-law Amber Sanders of Sweet Home; sisters Tracy Menear and brother-in-law James Jacks of Sweet Home, and Kristi Cooley of Stockton; four grandchildren; 10 nieces; four nephews; four grand-nieces, three grandnephews and countless others he loved as his own through the years.
Mr. Cooley was preceded in death by his father, James Cooley in 2002; and his mother, Shirley Hogard Cooley in 2009.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
