Diane Rose Burningham, 78, of Sweet Home died March 6, 2013 at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, Wash.
She was born July 27, 1934 in Oakland, Calif. to Stan and Lillian (Lyall) Pheby. She lived in Oakland before moving to Sweet Home with her family in 1968.
Mrs. Burningham was employed at Pineway Golf Course for many years. She was a dedicated wife and mother and a very strong and supportive person to all the people she loved. She particularly enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always there for them, giving them lots of time, love and important life lessons.
She enjoyed flowers, gardening and cooking and shared her talents with her children. She loved dogs. She was savvy on computer skills and games and always wanted to keep up with the kids. The Burninghams spent several winters in Yuma, Ariz.
Mrs. Burningham is survived by her daughters, Pamela of Albany, and Raenel of Sweet Home; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Noel in 2012; son Paul in 1996; and parents Stanley and Lillian Pheby.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at Sweet Home Mennonite Church, 1266 44th Ave., Sweet Home. Interment will follow at Gilliland Cemetery with a graveside service for both Noel and Diane at 3:30 pm.
