Diane Lee Lucky, 62, of Sweet Home died Aug. 3, 2006 in the comfort of her home after battling cancer.
She was born July 27, 1944 in Portland and grew up in Sweet Home, where she graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1962. She attended Western Oregon State College.
She married Joe Lucky Dec. 2, 1967 in Sweet Home, where they made their home and raised their daughters.
Mrs. Lucky loved spending time with her family and enjoyed cooking, baking and making candy. She also loved nature and all of its beauty. Through the course of her life she has spent many hours volunteering her time at church, Girl Scouts, class reunions, family reunions, catering, car shows, American Legion Auxiliary and decorating many events.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Lucky; daughters, Jennifer Barber and Julie Shilts; two grandchildren; her parents, Tom and Mardy (Nothiger) Hufford; brother, Ted Hufford; sisters, Tommy Dalton and Jan Wilson, and many nieces and nephews, all of Sweet Home.
Mrs. Lucky was preceded in death by her sister, Cheryl Hufford.
Viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at Workman & Steckly Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at the River of Life Fellowship in Sweet Home.
