Dick (Richard) Whitlatch, 81, died Nov. 14, 2010.
He was born Sept. 12, 1929 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He graduated from Cascade High School in 1947 in Turner.
Mr. Whitlatch married Charlotte Selvester on Feb. 1, 1948.
He retired from Oregon Dept. of Fish and Wildlife after 38 years as a manager of Sandy Fish Hatchery. The Whitlatches lived at many of the different fish hatcheries over his 38-year career.
After retirement they were able to move into an RV and traveled around the U.S., Canada and Mexico, spending their winters in Arizona and summers in Oregon. During their travels they made many friends along the way.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; daughter Sherry and son-in-law Ken Johnston of Sweet Home; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters May Leese of Beaverton, Myrtle Sprong of Turner and Joyce Ottoboni of Tres Pinos; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Mary Whitlatch; brothers Paul, Jess, Roy and Cecil; and sister Marion.
Memorial services were held Nov. 20 at the Sweet Home United Methodist Church.
