Dicky “Dick” Dale Dimick, 94, of Foster, died Dec. 9, 2025, in Portland.

He was born Oct. 2, 1931, in Scotts Mills to Wiley and Mae Dimick, he was preceded in death by his parents, nine siblings, and a great-grandson.

A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he served from January of 1952 to December of 1953 as a corporal and track vehicle mechanic with HQB, 2nd Infantry Division Artillery. He received two Bronze Service Stars, the United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

He loved baseball and, as a Sweet Home High School senior, was offered the chance to play with a minor league team in Eugene but chose to work instead.

He later worked in logging, mechanics and construction in Florence and Sweet Home.

Survivors include daughter Shelly (Greg) Saunders; son Robert (Elizabeth) Dimick; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter expected in June 2026.

A graveside service with Army Military Honors will be at 1 p.m.  Saturday, May 30, at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the  arrangements.
