District schools get five new teachers

School District 55 has five new teachers for the 2009-10 school year. They include the following:

Jennifer Berry-O’Shea, language arts and social studies, Sweet Home Junior High. Berry received her bachelor’s degree from Willamette University and her master of arts in teaching from George Fox University. This is her first teaching assignment.

Trey Hagen, art, SHJH. Hagen has seven years of experience as an art teacher, five at Cascade School District and two at Central Linn School District. He received his bachelor of arts degree from Lewis and Clark College, a master of fine arts degree from the University of Tennessee and a master of arts in teaching from Western Oregon University.

Lesli Jennings, first-grade job share with Molly Tenbusch, Hawthorne Elementary. Jennings is a graduate of Sweet Home High School. She received her bachelor of science degree from Oregon State University and completed her initial licensure program at Corban College. This will be her first teaching job.

Seth Johnson, special education, SHHS. Johnson received his bachelor of arts degree from Linfield College and his master of science in teaching degree from Western Oregon University. Johnson has four years of teaching experience, most recently as a special education teacher with the Willamette Education Service District in Salem.

Marci Sullens, fifth- and sixth-grade, Oak Heights Elementary School. Sullens completed her bachelor of science degree at Oregon State University and received her master of arts in teaching degree at Pacific University. She has four years of experience, teaching in the Beaverton and Lebanon School Districts.
