District welcomes new school teachers

The Sweet Home School District has welcomed 30 new teachers this month. They include the following:

– Tiffany Bolman, math, Sweet Home Junior High. Bolman has two years of experience, most recently at Sandridge Charter School. She earned her master of arts degree from Willamette University.

– Emma Brock, sixth grade, Hawthorne. Brock is a new teacher who earned a master of arts degree from the University of Oregon.

– Stephani Catt, elementary teacher, Hawthorne. Catt has three years of experience, most recently at Arthur Academy in Portland. She graduated with a master of arts from Concordia University.

– Emmi Collier, elementary physical education, Foster. Collier is a new teacher, who earned her master of arts degree from Oregon State University.

– Bailey Davenport, first grade, Oak Heights. Davenport graduated with a master of arts from the UO and is a new teacher.

– Kristy Davis, counselor, Foster and Holley. Davis has one year of experience, in the Corvallis School District, and received a master of arts degree from OSU.

– Kelley Deckard, special education, Oak Heights. She has one year of experience, in Coos Bay, and earned a bachelor of arts degree from Grand Canyon University.

– Stephanie Deneen-Rodrigues, elementary teacher, Oak Heights. Deneen-Rodrigues has six years of experience, most recently in the Alhambra School District in Phoenix, Ariz. She graduated from Arizona State University with a master of arts degree.

– Donna Di Pietro, special education, SHJH. Di Pietro has 18 years of experience, most recently in Oregon Trail School District in Sandy, and earned her master of arts from Western Oregon University.

– Sara Doherty, third and fourth grade, Foster. Doherty earned a master of arts degree from Concordia University and is a new teacher.

– Hannah Galka, kindergarten, Hawthorne. Galka is a new teacher. She earned a bachelor of arts from the UO.

– Logan Geissler, fifth and sixth grade, Oak Heights. Geissler earned his master of arts degree from the UO and is a new teacher.

– Megan Gonyea, fourth grade, Holley. Gonyea has 10 years of experience, most recently at Sand-ridge Charter School, and earned her master of arts degree from the UO.

– Linzy Griffin, sixth grade, Foster. Griffin earned a bachelor of arts from WOU and is a new teacher.

– Tifinie Hadley, special education, SHHS. Hadley has six years of experience, most recently in the Bend School District. She earned a master’s degree from Pacific University.

– Austin Hart, vocational education, SHHS. He has one year of experience, at Philomath High School. He earned his certification at Linn-Benton Community College and is a new teacher.

– Kelsey Harris, PE, SHHS. Harris has six years of experience, most recently in Evergreen School District in Vancouver, Wash., and earned a master of arts degree from Concordia University.

– Julie Jefferson, first and second grade, Oak Heights. Jefferson has 12 years of experience, most recently as a temporary instructor in Sweet Home. She graduated from OSU with a master of arts degree.

– Linda Luu, second grade, Foster. Luu is a new teacher and earned a bachelor of arts degree from WOU.

– Sarah McNellis, language arts at Sweet Home High School. McNellis has four years teaching experience, most recently in Milton Freewater, and earned her master of arts degree from Concordia University.

– Madelyn McQuilliam, fifth grade, Foster. McQuilliam earned a bachelor of arts degree from OSU and is a new teacher.

– Josh O’Gorman, PE, Hawthorne. O’Gorman is a new teacher and earned a master of arts from Concordia University.

– Kathy Parsons, special education, SHJH. Parsons has 10 years of experience, most recently in South Lane School District in Cottage Grove. She earned a master of arts degree from WOU.

– Sarah Peterson, science, SHJH. Peterson is a new teacher. She earned a master of arts degree from OSU.

– Madelyn Smith, science, SHHS. Smith has one year of experience, in Centinela Valley Union School District in Lawndale, Calif. She is a graduate of the University of Southern California.

– Richard Smithson, science, SHHS. Smithson has three years of experience, most recently in North Santiam School District in Stayton. He is a graduate of Western Oregon State University.

– Brittanie Sorensen, second grade, Holley. Sorensen graduated from Eastern Oregon University with a master of arts degree and is a new teacher.

– Misty Triplett, special education, SHHS. Triplett earned a master of arts degree from Pacific University and is a new teacher.

– Daniel Young, language arts, SHHS. Young is a new teacher and earned a bachelor of arts degree from Concordia.
