Donald Whitlow

Donald Ray Whitlow, 72, of Sweet Home died Nov. 18, 2014. He was born April 20, 1942 in Briggsville, Ark. to James Leon and Bessie Irene (Adamson) Whitlow.

He joined the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1963. He lived most of his life in Arkansas, in Yell, Pope, Pliskey and Saline counties. Mr. Whitlow moved to Oregon in October of this year to be near his family. He was a long-haul truck driver and affiliated with the VFW. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, woodworking and spending time with his family.

Mr. Whitlow is survived by his daughter Donna and son-in-law Harold Barbee of Monmouth; son Steve and daughter-in-law Desiree Whitlow of Sweet Home; daughter-in-law Heather Lander of Salem; sisters Lura and brother-in-law Gerald Davis of Ola, Ark., Louise and brother-in-law James Rogers of Danville, Ark., and Reda and brother-in-law Dwight McConnell of Mt. George, Ark.; brother David and sister-in-law Kathy Whitlow of Burta, Ark.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by spouses Midge Whitlow (2013) and Kathy Whitlow (1997); son Paul Whitlow (1987); infant brother Johnny Whitlow; sister Betty Muck; and parents Lonnie and Irene Whitlow
