Donations for Cooper

Volunteers stand amid some of the contributions to a garage sale held on the last weekend of July at Little Promises Preschool to benefit Cooper Miller, a local 5-year-old boy who has leukemia. The sale raised more than $5,000, according to Anita Hutchins, director of the preschool. Pictured, from left, are Levi Hutchins, Shauna McIntyre, Dawn Valloni, Laurie Boyd, Wendy Zanonez, Mindy Miner, Betty Miner and, at right, Tami Worley and Misti Schiffert.

A benefit concert will be held for leukemia victim Cooper Miller from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the Community Chapel Amphitheater.

Featured artists include Tristan Nichols (winner of the 2008 Linn County Fair’s Country Showdown and opening act for Confederate Railroad at the Oregon Jamboree), Praise in 3D (the Dominy family), Shades of Gray (featuring Sean Morgan), Sanctify, Taylor Thorpe, and Debi Cooley.

There is no cost to attend but donations will be taken for the Miller family. Foods and desserts will be sold. Bring a lawn chair, blanket and your wallet.
