Donna Blanchard

Donna L. (Lutton) Blanchard, 84, of Sweet Home died Aug. 25, 2011.

She was born Feb. 25, 1927 in Alsea to Orval and Cressie (Vidatoe) Weaver.

She came to Sweet Home from Alsea during her teen years. She met and later married James Lutton, who was in Sweet Home on leave from the United States Navy. He was a decorated Pearl Harbor survivor. They hunted and fished. They loved working together and owned the Lakeside Sporting Goods Store in Foster and had a lot of fun together. The family remembered the true love they had for each other and it was a happy marriage. Mr. Lutton passed away in 1985. She then married John Blanchard who also passed away before her.

Mrs. Blanchard is survived by her children, Larry Vallad of Newport, Thomas Lutton of Blain, Wash., and JoAnne Lutton of Sweet Home; brother Virgil D. Weaver; sister Ellaine Rankin; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husbands Jim Lutton and John Blanchard; an infant son; son William Lutton; and daughters Randee Lutton and Geraldine Lutton.

A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
