Donna Taylor

Donna “Jean” Taylor, 79, of Sweet Home, died Sept. 7, 2019.

She was born Feb. 3, 1940 in Walla Walla, Wash. to Arthur Vern and Anna Helen (Dietzman) Russell. 

She grew up in California, then lived in Oregon most of her adult life. 

Mrs. Taylor loved to sew and crochet. She crocheted a baby blanket for every grandchild. She had a large collection of pens and was an avid elephant collector. Her family brought her the most joy in her life. 

Mrs. Taylor is survived by two sons, Jim Taylor of Cusseta, Ala., Arthur Taylor of Springfield; two daughters, Velma Canfield of Sweet Home, Mary Crist of Eugene; sisters Patti Jensen of Santa Rosa, Calif. and Sally Willert of Ozark, Mo.; brother Sonny Russell of St. Louis, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Joe Taylor in 1987; two daughters, Anna Avoskee and Norma Taylor; two sons: David Taylor, Darrell Taylor; granddaughter Amanda Spier; brother Bobby Russell; two sisters, Mary Russell and Dorothy Crisler; and her parents. 

A memorial service was held Sept. 13 at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel, with final burial at Gilliland Cemetery.
