Doris I. Rector, 94, of Sweet Home, died peacefully on Nov. 10, 2016.
She was born Aug. 31, 1922 in Queens, N.Y. to Charles and Anna (Jacobson) Carlson.
She moved to Southern California in 1956, but has called Sweet Home her home since 1972, when she and her husband and son were able to live life away from the city.
She was a Lutheran.
Mrs. Rector worked at Santiam Auto Supply for many years.
She is survived by three nieces, Joan and her husband Walter Cook, Lynn and her husband Remi Boudreau, and Dolores Realmuto; and their children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Gordon Rector Sr. in 1990; and son Jay Gordon Rector Jr. in 2007.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Rector requested that donations be made to Special Olympics, HSUS or ASPCA.
