Dorothy Wolfer

Dorothy Hurd Wolfer, 84, died Sept. 17, 2006.

She was born Oct. 14, 1921 in Portland and lived in Albany for many years. She was a sales clerk at Western Auto in Sweet Home and lived in Sweet Home until May 2005, when she moved to Eugene Good Samaritan Health Center.

Mrs. Wolfer loved to read and walk. She was a member of the Sweet Home Assembly of God.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Pickens of Ruth, Nev., and Sandra Murphy of Temecula, Calif.; sisters, Lucille Fisher of Eugene, Mary Kirkham of Eugene, Doris Wooton of Albany and Donna Boyd Monroe of Toledo; brothers, Richard Pierce of Eugene, Delbert Pierce of Portland and Wayne Pierce of Vancouver, Wash.; four grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and extended Wolfer family members.

She was preceded in death by her first spouse Cecil Hurd and second spouse Melvin Wolfer.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Sweet Home Assembly of God.
