A 58-year-old Sweet Home man who was fishing with a friend in Quartzville Creek about 11 miles past Green Peter dam, drowned Thursday afternoon.
Terry W. Holben died after failing to cross the creek. His fishing partner, Steve Davies, 47, of Lebanon, had successfully crossed the river. He said Holben lost his footing and fell into the river. Holben was wearing chest waders.
