Duane Arthur Ringheimer, 70, of Lebanon, died at his home on Oct. 5, 2005.
He was born Nov. 20, 1934 in Wolsey, S.D., the son of Arthur William and Ethlyn Beryl (Hatcher) Ringheimer. He was the oldest of 16 children.
Mr. Ringheimer grew up in South Dakota. In January of 1953, he joined the Air Force and was stationed in England. He served in the Air Force until December of 1956 when moved back to South Dakota. He later moved to Piercy, Calif., where he worked for his uncle at the Redwood Stud Mill and served as a volunteer firefighter. While in Piercy, he met his future wife, Margaret Ann Hyde.
The Ringheimers were married on July 24, 1960 in Sweet Home. They moved to Sweet Home in 1968 and in 1982 moved to the Lebanon area, where he has lived since. Mr. Ringheimer worked for the Willamette Industries Lebanon Plywood Mill from 1968 until retiring in 1991.
He was a past member of the VFW in Sweet Home. He enjoyed collecting sports cards and beer steins. He also liked going to garage sales. He especially loved being with his grand kids.
Mr. Ringheimer is survived by: his sons, Walter Arthur Ringheimer and his wife Mary E. of Salem, Randolph Buel Ringheimer and his wife Carrie of Lebanon, and Ron Ringheimer and his wife Pam of Sweet Home; 11 brothers and sisters, five grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Margaret Ann Ringheimer on May 2, 2005; his father Arthur on February 20, 1980; his mother Ethlyn on July 16, 1997; 3 sisters, and one brother.
A graveside service was held Oct. 10 at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home.
