Eagle Scout plans trail for Wiley Creek residents

A Sweet Home High School senior is seeking funding assistance to help complete his Eagle Scout community service project.

Neal Workman, 17, plans to build a 10 feet wide trail for residents of Wiley Creek Community to the streamside.

“I see this as something all the residents can use,” Workman said. “The path will be wide enough so that golf carts can be used to transport residents up and down the hill.”

Workman would like to see the project completed by the end of the month. He estimates the trail at 925 feet. It will be added to an existing trail/roadway.

The project will include removing considerable amounts of brush, laying down rock and building one or two bridges over small waterways.

Workman is the son of Bruce and Mary Workman and is a Life Scout at this time.

Materials needed to complete the project include: three 4 X 6 X 20 treated boards, 40 2 X 6 X 10 treated board, two inch screws, six brackets to hold posts, four sacks of cement, an 8 inch by 6 foot cardboard tube, Roundup and Crossbow, gravel, a 12′ C 2′ culvert, tractor and brush hog.
