Earl Jones

Earl “Butch” Eugene Jones, 74, of Sweet Home, passed away Oct. 7, 2025.
He was born July 28, 1951, to Betty Ruth (Byrd) and Gene Earl Jones in St. Louis, Mo.
He was in the Marine Corps from 1969 to 1972, where he earned a National Defense Service Medal, rifle sharpshooter and good conduct medals during Vietnam.
Butch lived in Missouri, California, and South Carolina before coming to Oregon in 1972. He worked as a warehouse supervisor.
He liked to golf, play softball and enjoyed watching college football.
Butch is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Jones of Sweet Home; son Earl Eugene Jones Jr. of Sweet Home; daughter Stacy Jones of Asheville, N.C.; brother Ronnie Jones of Quilcene, Wash.; sisters Ruthie McClain of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Darlene Townsend of Sweet Home; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenny Jones (2022), and sister Beth Jones (2024).
