Aug. 8, 1934 – April 26, 2016
Earnest Leighton “Dutch” Loe, 81, a former Sweet Home resident, died April 26, 2016 of congestive heart failure at his home in Gresham.
Mr. Loe was born Aug. 8, 1934 in Silverton to Orval and Hildred Loe, one of five children.
He lived in Sweet Home as a boy.
He married Mona Thibo-deau in November 1955 in Maine.
Mr. Loe served in the Air Force from 1952 to 1972, retiring to Gresham. He then worked for the Bonneville Power Administration in Portland from 1970 to 1990, specializing in property/inventory management as he did in the Air Force.
Mr. Loe is survived by his wife of 60-plus years, Mona; daughters Shirley and son-in-law Larkin Price, Barbara and son-in-law Lee Stratton, and Peggy and son-in-law Eric Hazen; five granddaughters; a grandson; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Ralph and Ray.
A service is planned for 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 27, at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
