Kory Bates, development director for East Linn, said the evening grossed $106,000 — $23,000 more than the previous high. “We were very blessed,” Bates said. The showcase item, a bronze statue of two battling elk bulls, fetched $9,500. A set of pearls went for $2,500. Donations for track and field equipment totaled $6,175, and $15,000 in cash gifts was matched by Auction Angel, anonymous donors who matched donations. More then 300 bidders participated in the event, Bates said.
