Auctioneer Paul Schultz, of Albany, center right, works the crowd at the 21st annual Benefit Auction for East Linn Christian Academy at the Lebanon Boys and Girls Club Saturday, March 11. Kory Bates, development director for East Linn, said the evening grossed $106,000 — $23,000 more than the previous high. “We were very blessed,” Bates said. The showcase item, a bronze statue of two battling elk bulls, fetched $9,500. A set of pearls went for $2,500. Donations for track and field equipment totaled $6,175, and $15,000 in cash gifts was matched by Auction Angel, anonymous donors who matched donations. More then 300 bidders participated in the event, Bates said.
