For The New Era
The East Linn Loggers, Sweet Home?s adult football team featuring home grown local talent, make their NNFL debut in Eugene this Saturday night.
The night?s format is that of a traditional Jamboree, in which all eight of the nine man teams play shortened games against other league affiliates. The Loggers begin play at 8:15 p.m. and face off with four other NNFL teams in controlled scrimmages. This is the first opportunity for Head Coach Jesse Garcia to see his charges in full contact with a hostile foe.
?I?m a little nervous and very excited, but I think we?ll do well,? said Coach Garcia. ?We?re not going to come out and shock people, we?re just looking to get the pre-season jitters worked out and see what our starters can do in a live game.?
The contests are under the lights at Churchill High School, located on Bailey Hill Road and West 18th in Eugene. Adult admission will be $6. Students, senior adults and children will be charged half price with kids six and under entering for free.
