Edith Heeter

Edith Ramona Heeter, 93, of Sweet Home died Dec. 31, 2012.

She was born March 8, 1919 in Walla Walla, Wash. to Justin and Edith (Cross) Philpott.

When she was six months old her family moved back to Holley. She graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1937.

She met George Wesley Heeter and they married in Stevens, Wash. in 1939. They lived and raised their three daughters in Holley.

Mrs. Heeter participated in a creative stitchery group and the Holley garden club, and she participated in the Oregon State University Extension Service. She was very talented at anything she tried. She loved nature and spending time outdoors, especially in the Holley area.

Mrs. Heeter is survived by her daughters, Judy Heeter of Sweet Home, Jean Reynolds of Holley and Linda Gilkison of Albany; brother Tom Philpott of Holley; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband George Heeter in 2004; granddaughter Katie Reynolds in 2003 and sister Wilma Clarke in 2012.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to East Linn Museum in Sweet Home.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
