Editor’s note

We’d like to remind our readers that we welcome letters to the editor.

Lately, though, we’ve received several very well-written, thoughtful letters that we haven’t been able to print either because the writer apparently wanted to remain anonymous and did not include his or her name, or because the writer failed to give us a phone number. (We may be able to find your phone number if you don’t include it, but the easiest and sure way to get your letter considered for publication is to include a number you can be reached at.)

We will not run anonymous letters, no matter how well-written they are. If you give a reasoned argument for your position and avoid personal attacks on the character and intelligence of those with whom you don’t agree, our experience is that the feedback you get will generally follow suit. In other words, don’t be shy to share your opinion.
