Edris O. Wagers, 88, of Sweet Home, passed away Dec. 31, 2025.

She was born Oct. 24, 1937, to Grace (Rickman) and Ole Soleim in Eugene.

She was a bookkeeper, then became a pediatric nurse, joining the U.S. Air Force, where she continued her nursing career as a pediatric nurse and stewardess nurse. She was also a stay-at-home mom.

During her life she lived in Eugene, Spokane, Travis Air Force Base in California, where she was in the Air Force from 1962 to 1965 as a second lieutenant nurse, then in Seattle, Yakima and Wapato, Wash.

Edris and Clifford moved to Sweet Home in the summer of 1984.

She also was the co-owner of Coast to Coast Hardware in Sweet Home.

Edris enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and loved to go shopping, but mainly spent her time as a caregiver to others.

Edris and Clifford became parents to over 200 children, by birth, by fostering and by adoption. She would tell every child who came into her home that there would always be a piece of her heart that went with every one of them.

She loved every child as if they were her own.

She is survived by a son, Brian Wagers and wife Danyell of Pasco, Wash., son Doug Wagers and wife Sheli of Salem, daughter Gail Hubble and husband Brian of Springfield, daughter Nikita Wagers of Albany, and daughter McKenzie Wagers of Albany; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Clifford Wagers (2021).

A memorial service with military honors will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
