Edwin Carr

Edwin “Ed” C. Carr, 93, of Sweet Home, died Jan. 20, 2022.

He was born Sept.11, 1928 in Tonopah, Nev., to Shelby John and Sarah Helen (Leavitt) Carr.

He lived in Fallon, Nev., Grants Pass and Watsonville, Calif., before finally settling in Sweet Home in 1994.

Mr. Carr was a Bank Assistant Manager for the Bank of California. He was a past president of the Watsonville Host Lions Club. He and his wife were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Oakland Temple.

He enjoyed reading, gardening and wood carving.

Mr. Carr is survived by his wife, Venieta (Mehlhoff) Carr of Sweet Home; daughters Keri L. Bates of De Pere, Wis., and Candace C. Elledge of Tucson, Ariz.; son Kendall Edwin Carr of Des Moines, Wash.; sisters Clara B. Hansen of Mesa, Ariz. and Ruth Kostick of El Dorado, Calif.; brother David L. Carr of Crawfordsville; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Ann Renville; granddaughter Kathryn Rose Renville; sisters Lillian Glass and Zona Gledhill; and brothers Robert W. Carr and Sidney J. Carr.

Viewing will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sweet Home. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Mr. Carr will be buried at Gilliland Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in his name to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Humanitarian Aid Fund.
