Edwin J. Luttmer, 91, of Lebanon died June 20, 2011 at Charis Cottage Adult Care Home in Lebanon.
He was born March 10, 1920 in Enid, Okla., the son of Bernard and Anna (Wegmann) Luttmer. He resided in several states growing up, doing farm work with his family. Mr. Luttmer entered the Army in 1942 and drove armored tank while serving in the Pacific during World War II. He settled in California following his discharge and married Jewell Mullen on Dec. 20, 1945 in Firebaugh, Calif. They resided in Sweet Home before moving to their home in Lebanon in 1958.
Mr. Luttmer worked 34 years in the powerhouse and as a sawyer for Willamette Industries before retiring. He loved gardening and working on his farm, raising livestock and haying. He also loved to fix and work on things.
He is survived by daughters Lynn Seiders of Lebanon and Ginger Allen of Sweet Home; sons LeRoy Luttmer of Sweet Home and Dale Luttmer of Lebanon; brothers Walter Luttmer of Canute, Okla. and Bernard Luttmer of Oklahoma City, Okla., six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Vivian, two brothers and two sisters.
A graveside service was held June 24 at the Lebanon IOOF Cemetery.
