Eight candidates have filed to run for four City Council seats in the Nov. 8 City Council election.
The deadline to file was Aug. 30.
Candidates are: Lisa Pye, Lisa Gourley, incumbent Dave Trask, incumbent Diane Gerson, incumbent James Goble, Andrew Allen, Theresa Howard and Susan Coleman.
Four council terms are set to expire on Dec. 31, including those held by Dave Trask, James Goble and Mayor Jim Gourley and Gerson.
Gourley has decided not to run again after serving 24 years on the council. Lisa Gourley is married to Jim Gourley.
The four candidates receiving the most votes in the November election win. The fourth-place candidate serves a two-year term while the top three will serve four-year terms.
Winners begin serving in January.
Linn County will deliver ballots to post offices on Oct. 19.
