Elaine Marie Halsne, 83, of Albany died June 22, 2009.
She was born Dec. 8, 1925 in Rockford, Ill., to Patrick Henry and Mary Claire (Bertchie) Cleary.
She graduated from West High School in Rockford, Illinois in 1943 and lived in Rockford until 1957. She then lived in various places in California until settling in Redding in 1963. She left Redding in 1999 when she moved to Sweet Home to live with her daughter Kathi.
Mrs. Halsne worked in the timber industry in the Redding area doing lumber shipping and billing. After retirement she was very active with the Humane Society in Redding.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathi Redick of Sweet Home; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several cousins.
Mrs. Halsne was preceded in death by her Brother Jack Cleary in 1938 and son-in-law David Redick in 2009.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Humane Society. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
