Elizabeth J. Cornwell

Feb. 7, 1913 – Feb. 25, 2006

Elizabeth J. Cornwell, 93, died Feb. 25 at BridgeCreek Care Facility in Lebanon.

She was the next to oldest of 10 children born to Ralph and Martha Vaughn. She graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1930 and married Clay Cornwell in 1934. He preceded her in death in 1962.

Mrs. Cornwell worked for 30 years in plastics factories in El Monte, Calif. and Portland. She retired in 1978 and moved back to Sweet Home from Portland.

Mrs. Cornwell was a member of the Baptist church and loved her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, photography, putting puzzles together and listening to music. She also loved dogs and had many during her lifetime.

She is survived by Eldon and Barbara Pearce, her nephew and niece, and three sisters, June Canaday of Beaverton, Nancy Walls of Lebanon and Mary Anderson of Silverton, as well as many other nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Cornwell was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters: Charles Vaughn, Wilbur Vaughn, Clarence Vaughn, Crystal Pearce, Anna Bodingheimer and Bessie Culberton.

A graveside service was held March 3 at the IOOF Cemetery in Lebanon.
