Elizabeth “Betty” Pearl Ransom, 75, of Grants Pass died on Monday, June 12, 2006 at her home at Oak Lane Retirement.
She was born on June 26, 1930 in Klamath Falls. In 1947, she graduated from Sweet Home High School.
She was a manager at the Bridge Bakery in Newport and later worked for JC Penney in Newport as well as California and Arizona as a merchandiser.
Her hobbies included gardening, reading, game shows, painting, poetry, embroidery and crocheting.
Her first husband was Wayne Gerard, with whom she had two children, Diana and Monte. After the death of her second husband, Louis Edgar Brumbaugh Sr., with whom she had three children, Louis, Elizabeth and Viola “Krystee,” she married Frank Ransom of Toledo.
In the 1970s, she survived a bout with cancer. In 1995, the Ransoms moved to Grants Pass, and she lived there with him until her death.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Frank Ransom; daughter, Diana Corson of Albany; son, Monte Gerard of Albany; son, Louis Brumbaugh Jr. of Dundee; daughter, Elizabeth Turk of Portland; daughter, Viola “Krystee” Brumbaugh of Cave Junction; step-son, Frank Ransom Jr. of Newport; sister, Ida Dysert of Grants Pass; brother, Chet Bradshaw of Sutherlin; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
No services are planned. Southern Oregon Cremation Services of Grants Pass is handling the arrangements.
