The Sweet Home Elks hosted their 25th annual Hoop Shoot free throw competition Dec. 6 at Sweet Home Junior High.
More than 225 shooters from Sweet Home Charter School, Foster, Holley, Hamilton Creek and Hawthorne participated in the contest, which started with competitions held at the individual schools, organizer Randy Claasen said.
About 30 contestants moved on to the local finals on Dec. 6. The winners in the various age divisions will move on to the district finals in Corvallis Jan. 10 and those winners will qualify for the state competition in Salem, with the regional competition following in Vancouver, Wash.
