Emma E. “Betty” Jones, 87, of Sweet Home died Feb. 9, 2013 at Avamere Rehabilitation of Lebanon.
She was born Aug. 16, 1925 in Los Angeles, Calif., the daughter of Casey and Wilma (Miller) Donoho. She moved to Fruitland, Idaho as a child and later moved to Seattle, Wash. She graduated from high school in Seattle and then continued to reside there, working for the Navy.
She married Harold Jones on March 15, 1948 in Fruitland. They moved to Oregon in 1953, settling in the Upper Calapooia area of Holley. They moved into Holley in 1977. Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and later worked over 30 years as an Avon Representative. Mr. Jones preceded her in death on April 12, 2004 and she then moved to Sweet Home.
She loved hosting family reunions and gatherings. She also enjoyed gardening, bird watching, reading and winning at playing board games.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her son Daniel and daughter-in-law Retta Jones of Sweet Home; daughter Susan and son-in-law Allen Dodge of Jerusalem, Israel; four grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Huston-Jost Funeral Home in Lebanon. Private interment will be at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home.
