Equestrian drill second, Seiber second in flags

The Husky equestrian team finished second in drill among three teams during a March 3-5 meet in Salem.

The Huskies would have placed first, Coach Billie Bjornsen said, but the judges were not ready when the Huskies started. They had to perform their routine again, and a rein came loose during the second performance.

Jessalyn Seiber finished second in individual flags. She was third in figure eight.

The Huskies’ in-hand obstacle relay team finished 11th among about 50 teams.

“I was very proud of them, and they worked really well together this weekend,” Bjornsen said. “Next meet, we’ll do very well.”

In other events, Cera Kem placed 10th in stock seat, also called western equitation.

Larissa Bjornsen finished 17th in showmanship. Kem finished 25th in showmanship.

L. Bjornsen also finished seventh in figure eight.
