Eula Mae Sabisch, 86, of Sweet Home died Oct. 6, 2012 at Twin Oaks Nursing Home.
She was born Jan. 6, 1926 in Clay City, Kan. to Lewis and Cuma (Crandal) Nicholas.
She traveled with her family from Kansas as a child to settle in Charleston. After high school, she moved to Eugene and then moved to the Elmira and Veneta area, where she lived for over 40 years.
Mrs. Sabisch ran an adult foster care home for veterans out of her home for many years. She married her husband, Charles T. Sabisch, in 1997 and moved to Sweet Home. He died in 2010 at the age of 99.
She loved to sing and play instruments like the piano and organ. She was great at cooking, baking, canning, and gardening, and she had an amazing knack for growing African violets.
Mrs. Sabisch is survived by two children, Allen Rust of Rickreall and Ellie Hill of Veneta; sister Edith Jones of Coquille; five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Sabisch.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, at Lewis Cemetery.
