Fest in November
Wild & Scenic Film Festival 2025, presented by the Corvallis Environmental Center, will stream Nov. 13-19, featuring 10 films from around the world on topics ranging from conservation to outdoor sports.
Video on demand tickets are $25, and a full schedule is available through the Corvallis Environmental Center’s website at www.corvallisenvironmentalcenter.org/wsff.
For those seeking the full festival experience, this year’s films will also be screened in-person at Whiteside Theatre in Corvallis at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the program beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are available through the Corvallis Environmental Center’s website.
All proceeds from the festival will go to the Corvallis Environmental Center’s “Food for Families” program, growing fruits and vegetables at Starker Arts Garden for Education for community members, and scholarships for the center’s youth programs.

One Sweet Home will hold a community prayer and worship service from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at River of Life church, 1658 Long St.

Bingo fundraiser
for Christmas Store
The 11th Annual Sweet Home Kids Free Christmas Store will hold a Bingo fundraiser Saturday, Nov. 15, at the RezRock church, 1621 53rd Ave., Foster.
Doors open at 5 p.m. Cost is $20 for 4 Bingo cards. There will be concessions, door prizes, and every Bingo winner wins a gift card from a local business.
The Annual Sweet Home Kids Free Christmas Store is run through a nonprofit, The Presidents Club.
The store will be held Dec. 6 in the gym at Sweet Home Charter School, 28721 Liberty Rd., for Sweet Home kids ages 2 through 17, who can shop for free for the families they live with.

Husky baseball
benefit breakfast
Sweet Home High School’s baseball team will host a benefit breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Rusty Bucket, 4102 Hwy. 20.
Cost is $10. Menu will be pancakes, sausage and eggs.
Christmas bell
ringers needed
Sweet Home Emergency Ministries is seeking bell ringers to staff Salvation Army donation buckets during the holiday season in Sweet Home.
Individuals, businesses, churches, civic groups or school groups are invited to sponsor a Tuesday or Saturday, from Nov. 25 through Dec. 20, at the Sweet Home Bi-Mart (west-end exit) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Four-hour slots can be divided up as sponsors wish, but they must be staffed during that period.
Proceeds go to SHEM programs that provide backpacks and supplies to local children in the fall.
SHEM staff will deliver and pick up the bell and kettle stand for each stint. Ringers are free to wear holiday attire, sing carols and generally provide festive cheer. Sponsors are welcome to bring a modest sign to display their group or business name.

Thankful Trot
fun runs at Chapel
Celebrate community and enjoy reasons to give thanks at the Thankful Trot 1 Mile Fun Run and 5K Run/Walk on Saturday morning, Nov. 22, at Community Chapel, 42250 Ames Creek Road.
Strut your stuff or just enjoy being outdoors on a mixed-terrain course that will include grass, gravel, dirt and pavement in a beautiful, family-friendly setting.
Cost is $5 per participant, with proceeds going to local nonprofit feeding programs.
Registration is at the door.
Registration for the 1 Mile Kid Trot starts at 8:30 a.m., with the race starting at 9:15. An adult can run with a child with the purchase of a ticket.
5K registration begins at 9:30 a.m., with race start time at 10:15.

Turkey Bingo
for firefighters
Sweet Home Volunteer Firefighters Association, together with the Sweet Home High School cheer team, will hold Turkey Bingo from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at the SHHS Cafeteria, 1641 Long St.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. In addition to Bingo winnings, there will be raffles and lots of chances to have fun.
Free Thanksgiving

Angila Tack Food Services & Supper Club will offer a free drive-through Thanksgiving breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 27, at 1266 15th Ave., on the corner of 15th Avenue and Long St.
Representatives from the Sweet Home Police Department and the Sweet Home Volunteer Firefighter Association will be present to accept donations on behalf of their youth Christmas programs.
Gingerbread bakers

Got baking skills? Demonstrate them at the seventh annual Gingerbread Competition sponsored by Julegard: The Christmas Farm and the Sweet Home Chamber of Commerce.
Entries will be judged on Saturday, Dec. 13, in the following categories: Child (5-8), Youth (9-12), Teen (13-17), Adult (18-plus), Group/Family and People’s Choice.
Entries can be dropped off between 1 and 3 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce, 1575 Main St. Judging begins at 3:15. Public viewing and People’s Choice voting will take place from 4 to 7 p.m.

Police Christmas
outreach for kids
Sweet Home Police Department is now accepting applications for the Teen Sharing Tree program for children in seventh through 12th grades. The program is based on family income levels and follows SNAP benefit guidelines, with a few exceptions made for extenuating circumstances, such as job loss.
Applications are available online at https://www.sweethomeor.gov/police/page/teen-sharing-tree-application and at the police department, 1950 Main St. Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Nov. 24.
Those who wish to shop for teens may visit the Police department, take a tag from the tree, go shopping and return wrapped gifts by 5 p.m. on Dec. 8.

Urgent need for Meals
on Wheels delivery
Meals on Wheels of Sweet Home is in urgent need of volunteer drivers, delivering free meals to local seniors and disabled adults in the Sweet Home area.
Delivery days are Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. The role is best suited for people available in the mid-day, as meals go out at noon. Volunteers work one to two days a week for about 2.5 hours each shift.
Meals on Wheels is managed by Oregon Cascades West Council of Governments and operated by local volunteers. Volunteers package fresh meals in the kitchen and the drivers deliver them. Many local people count on this food as a primary source of nutrition.

Museum needs
help from locals
East Linn Museum is seeking volunteers and items that are needed for the operation of the museum.
The museum needs volunteers for its operations to replace retiring volunteers. New volunteers are not required to know anything about the museum or how to operate a computer. The museum operates three days a week from Thursday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Supplies needed by the museum include: copy paper, postage stamps, legal size envelopes, paper towels, toilet paper, glass cleaner, all purpose cleaner and Ajax.

Free health clinic Tuesdays
The East Linn Community Clinic is held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays at 1600 Main St. in Lebanon.
This is a medical clinic that provides primary and acute medical care for under- or uninsured individuals. On select nights, Western U COMP-NW offers osteopathic manipulative medicine to treat chronic and acute pain. Patients may walk in or schedule appointments.
