NAPA, which stands for National Auto Parts Association, is all about parts.
With over 422,000 parts and accessories for automotive and industrial applications they have “the most extensive inventory in the industry,” according to Manager Christopher Deloy of NAPA in Sweet Home.
Everything from brakes to batteries, radiators to relays, sensors to switches – NAPA has the parts to keep your ride running smoothly.
Opening their first store in Newburg in 1987, NAPA now employs over 200 people in their 18 locations throughout the Willamette Valley, including one in Sweet Home.
“We have just recently purchased the Philomath store; adding more inventory and remodeling the store,” said Deloy.
Deloy and NAPA want to remind drivers of the following car care tips as fall and winter approach:
“Make sure that your wiper blades are in top condition and inspect all exterior lights. Visibility is key to your safely,” Deloy says. New wiper blades can make a tremendous difference
Winter is coming, so increasing visibility with a washer fluid containing de-icer can help drivers avoid time-consuming early morning ice chiseling.
Tire pressure should also be checked regularly to ensure maximum traction in adverse weather conditions. If a trip through the mountains or snow is in your future, consider carrying chains.
Deloy says now is a good time to perform regular maintenance such as changing your vehicle’s oil and the oil filter.
With fall arriving shortly, drivers also should have their charging system checked. With cold weather ahead, check your antifreeze. Don’t forget to use a tester.
If your vehicle is equipped with a Cabin Air Filter, Deloy says you should get it replaced.
Emergencies happen on the road when you least expect it. In adverse weather, it pays to be ready.
Be prepared by putting together a roadside emergency kit. Deloy recommends including a flashlight with fresh batteries, a blanket, food bars, water bottles, cell phone, jumper cables, flares, Fix-a-Flat, and a first aid kit.
As a part of your car check, inspect all of your engine’s belts and hoses.
“Don’t get stranded on your next trip because of a $10 belt or hose,” Deloy says.
