Founding members of the Fir Lawn Lutheran Church provided insight and highlights August 9 as the church congregation celebrated 50 years in the community.
Special guests included several of the churches former pastors.
The local congregation has been blessed with nine ministers, including current pastor Rev. Michael Schaefer. The first church pastor was the Rev. Oliver Everette who was represented at the celebration by his son, Cdr. Oliver Everette. Pastor Everette served from 1953-1958.
