A fire with an undetermined cause burned a home at 1186 46th Avenue Tuesday morning, Dec. 21.
The fire originated in the main living room of the a 1,200-square-foot house, according to Lieutenant Josh Bondesen.
No one was injured in the blaze; homeowner Denis Jacobs was out of the house when the flames consumed it. The fire district estimates the property loss in the event to be $80,000.
The building was a complete loss, Bondesen said.
Sixteen firefighters, two fire engines from Sweet Home, one fire engine from Lebanon, a Sweet Home ladder truck, and a brush rig responded at 10:54 a.m.
“The fire was well involved when we got there,” said Bondesen. “There was heavy fire and smoke coming out of the front door side of the structure. Our initial attack lines put the fire out from the exterior, then transitioned to the interior.”
Jacobs has homeowner’s insurance, Bondesen noted.
