SWEET HOME FIREFIGHTERS, above, cut through the front gate at 2210 Tamarack St., the old Willamette Industries Sweet Home Mill site, as the old mill office is engulfed in flames Sunday night. Firefighters and police officers responded to the fire at about 10:15 a.m. Sunday. Below, Sweet Home firefighters spray water on the fire. The blaze destroyed the office of the former Willamette Industries Sweet Home mill site. Battalion Chief Shannon Pettner said the building, now owned by Linn County and believed to be abandoned, was destroyed. Firefighters were uncertain whether it had power and planned to investigate the cause of the fire on Monday. Seventeen firefighters responded with six apparatus and vehicles at 10:14 p.m.
