Fire destroys recently purchased motor home

A motor home was destroyed by fire early Saturday morning.

Firefighters responded to a report of the fire at 2:38 a.m. on Saturday.

Upon their arrival, the motor home was fully involved.

The fire started around the power inverter, said Shannon Pettner, battalion chief with the Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District.

No one was inside the motor home when it caught fire, she said. The damage estimate for the fire was $2,000 for the motor home and $500 for the contents.

The owner, Scott Kellum, told fire investigators that he had just recently purchased the motor home.
