Firefighters mop up truck fire after homeowner douses it

Firefighters work at the scene of a fire that ignited in a trailer used for storage in the 40300 block of McQueen Drive Sunday, Feb. 16. The truck fire was part of a busy afternoon for the Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District. Firefighters responded to the truck fire about 3 p.m. to find the homeowner, applying water with a garden hose. Only light smoke was showing when firefighters arrived, according to SHFAD. Crews finished extinguishing the fire with on-scene personnel. The trailer was used for storage, SHFAD said. While 10 personnel were dealing with the truck, the department received multiple medical calls, getting assistance from Lebanon Fire District and Sweet Home police to cover those.
